Solomon Mikowsky is known as an outstanding piano teacher. An array of his students, including Kirill Gerstein and Simone Dinnerstein form the winners of the most prestigious international piano competitions, such as the Rubinstein Competition in Tel-Aviv, the Tchaikovsky Competition, the Queen Elisabeth Competition, Gilmore Artist Award and Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Richter Competition, and the Beethoven Competition in Bonn and Santander. 

Mikowsky is a member of the jury of many of the most important music competitions. He also leads master classes at conservatories in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Budapest, Warsaw, Salzburg, London, Paris, Leipzig, Rotterdam, Madrid, Tel-Aviv, as well as in Australia and Asia.
